World’s best city for food is packed with ‘cheap bites’ – full list | Travel News | Travel

Love trying a new restaurant or local treat when you’re on holiday? For many Britons, eating is a huge part of a trip abroad.

But which of the world’s cities have the best cuisine?

A new study from the team at Time Out has found the cities with the world’s best food by asking its expert Time Out Market chefs for their opinion.

While the UK just missed out on a spot in the top 10 ranking, there’s plenty to get you ready to book that next holiday overseas.

Do you agree with the ranking or would you include another city on the list?

8. Mumbai, India

Indian cuisine is probably one of the most popular around the globe so it’s no surprise to see Mumbai make this list. Kunal Bhatia, Mumbai writer, said: « Mumbai’s food scene is reflective of the city’s diversity, with ingredients and flavours from across India and the world ».

The city’s must-eat dish is the vada pav – a deep fried potato dumpling stuffed in a bread roll, accompanied by red and green chutney.

7. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Malaysian capital is « a big, delicious melting pot » according to Time Out and its food scene draws from Malay, Chinese and Indian culture. The city’s night markets are a must-do if you visit Kuala Lumpur and you might struggle to order from just one stall.
