This European country is less than three hours away from the UK but this country has been revealed as Brits top choice when it comes to living elsewhere.
Spain is the top place where Brits are moving to, a TikTok has revealed.
The main reasons why people want to move there are for the laid back lifestyle, warmer temperatures and beaches.
While most people might think that Australia is the top choice for Brits to move to, the distance away from the UK puts many off living there.
Spain offers many of the same benefits as Australia without being so far away so people can make the journey home to the UK easily if needed and it won’t take as much time or money as flying from down under would.
In 2023, around 93,000 Brits moved abroad, according to the TikTok.
The top five countries for Brits to move to include Italy, France, Australia, America and of course Spain.
Just making it into the top five, Italy welcomed 6231 Brits last year – its coastlines, beautiful scenery and delicious food are among the top reasons why this is a favourite destination to relocate to.
At number four, France saw 9393 Brits move into the country. France is one of the closest European countries for Brits to move to but still has lots of great things to offer such as countryside and beaches which are notably different from British landscapes.
Coming in at third place is Australia with 10,416 Brits choosing to make the journey down under. This is not a surprising number and Australia is a popular place for Brits to relocate to. Despite being so far away, its culture and scenery are what make it a dream destination.
At number two is America with 12,648 people moving to the states. The country has a lot to offer and is still English speaking which is a big point of consideration for many. Its vast landscapes and endless opportunities are what draw people to the country.
Finally in top spot is Spain with 13,113 Brits packing their bags for the European spot. Spain has the sunny lifestyle that people in the UK often dream of and it’s still not too far away from home.
