‘Secret code’ allows you to get engagement ring through airport easily | UK | Travel

Airport staff have been let in on a « secret code » so passengers can sneak engagement rings through one certain airport in London, ensuring those all-important proposals remain a surprise.

According to new data, a staggering 76% of airport-goers are nervous that airport security might accidentally ruin their proposal plans by exposing the hidden ring.

But, there’s a secret phrase you can whisper to keep your grand romantic gesture under wraps.

As per Queensmith’s research and subsequent polling, uttering ‘Does Harry still work here?’ to the airport staff is your best bet to bypass any unwelcome spoilers.

Following the revelation, Luton Airport has promised to honour the discreet codeword to preserve the magic of matrimony.

Clare Armstrong, London Luton Airport’s Head of Guest Experience, shared: « The last thing we want is to spoil a well-planned proposal by accidentally revealing the surprise before they even board the plane. »

She continued with evident delight, « That’s why we’re so excited for Queensmith’s ‘Ask for Harry’, helping make the proposal journey a little easier for our passengers.

After all, there are far more romantic places to pop the question than our security hall! »

The project, initiated at the airport, aims to safeguard lovebirds’ intentions to propose during their sentimental journeys

Engagement Ring Specialist Laura Suttie shared: « At Queensmith, we believe everyone should have the proposal of their dreams and supporting our customers on their journey to the altar is at the heart of what we do. »

They also added: « That’s why we’ve launched ‘Ask for Harry’ to take the fear out of the logistics of popping the big question abroad. Instead of stressing about the big question, we want proposers to focus on one of the best moments of their lives. We’d love to see more airports take up the initiative! ».
