Sarah Ferguson’s 10-word remark about Meghan Markle amid Royal Family feud | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson has claimed she doesn’t “really know” Meghan Markle despite meeting her on multiple occasions.

The Duchess of York, who turned 65 on Tuesday, was reportedly at her Royal Lodge home that she shares with her ex-husband Prince Andrew when she first met Prince Harry’s then-girlfriend.

According to Meghan, the couple had been to see Fergie and Andrew for lunch when it was suddenly announced the late Queen was going to drop by.

In his memoir Spare, Harry said how Fergie asked Meghan « Do you know how to curtsy? »

The duke wrote: « Meg shook her head. Fergie demonstrated once. Meg imitated her. »

Despite reportedly sharing this moment together, Sarah has since said that she didn’t really know Harry’s wife but thought she was “beautiful”.

In an interview with The Telegraph last year, Fergie said: « I don’t really know Meghan. I haven’t really met her. »

Despite the 10-word admission, Fergie went on to say she was happy that Prince Harry was happy.

She added: “I spoke to her at the funeral, and I thought she looked absolutely beautiful. I think she is beautiful.

“She has made Harry very happy, and that is so nice. Honestly, he’s so happy with her. She really loves him.

“And I think that’s beautiful – and that Diana would be proud of him and her lovely grandchildren. »

Sarah and Andrew’s children Princess Eugenie, 34, and Princess Beatrice, 36, were some of the royals closest to Meghan during her time in the Royal Family, which ended in 2020 when both she and Harry decided to relocate to California.

Princess Eugenie even flew out to America to see the couple a few years ago, with Prince Harry sharing a clip of him and his cousin on the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, which was released in 2022.

It is not known whether they are still on speaking terms following the release of his memoir Spare last year.
