Prince Harry jetting off to Super Bowl just days after 24-hour visit to sick King Charles | Royal | News

Prince Harry is set to attend the Super Bowl after appearing at the NFL Honours ceremony to present an award, according to well-placed sources.

The Duke of Sussex will join the likes of Taylor Swift at the NFL’s premier event where San Francisco will take on Kansas City.

It’s believed NFL bosses have asked Prince Harry to attend the culmination of the NFL season and this Super Bowl is anticipated to be one of the most-watched largely due to Taylor Swift’s attendance.

Speaking to The Mirror, an NFL insider said: « It is well known the Prince loves American football, and bosses have extended an invitation to him following his appearance at the awards. This year’s Super Bowl is expected to be one of the most watched ever due largely to Taylor being there to support her boyfriend. »

This isn’t the first time Harry will have attended a Super Bowl. In 2022, he attended the game with Princess Eugenie in is adopted home state of California.

The Palace said in a statement: « During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.

« His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.

« Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual. The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure.

« He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.

« His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer. »
