Prince Harry fans turn on Zara Tindall as they slam royal for not doing one thing | Royal | News

Prince Harry fans appear to have turned their backs on Zara Tindall as they accuse her of « not supporting her cousin ».

In the lead-up to Harry’s recent visit to the UK, there was much anticipation over whether members of the Royal Family would join him for a special service to mark 10 years of the Invictus Games.

Arriving at St Paul’s Cathedral, Harry was welcomed by a sea of cheers – but not one Royal Family member was in sight. Harry was instead joined by his late mother’s siblings, Charles Spencer and Lady Jane Fellowes.

Many fans of the Sussexes have expressed their upset that Zara, 42, Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 34 did not join the service – with Zara taking the bulk of the criticism.

Taking to social media, one fan commented: « Diana’s family attended the Invictus service as support for Prince Harry, whose family didn’t turn up. Not even his favourite cousin Zara. That’s family for you. »

Another Sussex fan wrote: « The absence of Zara Tindall and other members of the Royal Family at Prince Harry‘s Invictus Games Service raised questions. »

Referring to the Royal Family’s absence as « shameful », another wrote: « Don’t tell me Beatrice, Zara, Princess Anne, Edward or other Windsor cousins couldn’t have attended. Just shameful. »

Pointing out the Buckingham Palace Garden party, which took place on the same day, another fan commented: « Not all the royals were at the garden party. What about his cousins Eugenie, Beatrice, Zara and Lady Louise? Why didn’t they support Harry? »

Also taking to social media, another wrote: « I think it’s sad and pathetic that other non-working royals who are cousins to Harry couldn’t even come out to support Harry at the Invictus service. Shame on Eugene, Zara, Beatrice and all the others. »

Although no fans appear in defence of Zara, some pointed out that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie may have had « other things to do ».

One fan wrote: « Maybe they had other things to do. I know Beatrice is in New York at the moment. It’s not all about Harry. »

Another pointed out that Eugenie and her young family split their time between the UK and Portugal, hinting that she may not have been anywhere near London at the time of the service.

Zara was also competing at the Badminton Horse Trials.

Like previous visits, Harry only stayed in the UK for a short time before travelling to Nigeria with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Harry and Meghan flew to Nigeria together, landing in the African country on May 10.

The pair then spent three days there, on invitation from their military, for further commitments to the Invictus Games.

Harry and Meghan are said to have travelled back to the US on Monday, ready to be reunited with their children in California.
