People are hailing a « genius » food hack that will keep your spaghetti packed neatly in your cupboard.
While social media is a great way to stay in touch with friends, or stalk your favourite celebrities and what they are up to, it is also a great tool for learning new things. And potentially, there are hacks out there that could change your life.
Every now and then we all need a reorganise of our cupboards – and one pasta storage hack is perfect for clearing up some space and keeping dry spaghetti fresher for longer.
Typically, when you buy spaghetti it comes in a cardboard box or plastic bag. If you don’t use all the pasta in one sitting, you may find the strands falls out of the original packaging or break.
But thankfully, there’s a solution to the problem. A simple yet effective trick was shared on TikTok recently by @knowledge_in_ease – and it raked in thousands of likes.
The individual who posted the video said: « A food storage life hack that I really like. »
All you need is two sandwich bags to do it. A pack of 75 sandwich bags are available at Dunelm for £2, while Home Bargains is selling two lots of 50 packs for £1.18. Sainsbury’s sells 60 easy seal sandwich bags for £2.
Open one of the sandwich bags and put your hand through it. Next, grab your spaghetti and put it inside. Then, get another sandwich bag and put it over the other end of your spaghetti strands.
Now, press down on the seals on the sandwich bags until the mesh together. Voila – you now have a giant bag to store your pasta that won’t take up too much room in your cupboard.
Impressed people rushed to the comments section to praise the method. One individual said: « You just opened the possibilities of everything for me. I would have never thought about this. Pure genius. »
Another said: « Wow this is a good idea, thanks. » A third wrote: « Brilliant, that’s the only word to describe this. » Meanwhile, a third added: « Wow never seen this. »
Others weren’t as sold on the idea, though. One pointed out: « Well, you could just use one big bag. » Another agreed, advising: « Buy bigger bags. » And a third simply asked: « Why? Just why? »
