German Christmas market suspect charged with 5 murders as child victim pictured | World | News

A man has been charged with five counts of murder and several counts of attempted murder after an attack at Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany.

The suspect who has now been charged is Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, a Saudi doctor in his 50s. He arrived in Germany in 2006 and has worked in the Saxony-Anhalt region.

He is a 50-year-old psychiatrist from Saudi Arabia with a history of anti-Islam rhetoric, who has resided in Germany for nearly two decades, according to German police.

Meanwhile, heartbreaking tributes have been paid to the nine-year-old boy who was tragically killed in Friday’s attack.

Andre Gleissner was murdered the black BMW rental car into a crowd of people at Magdeburg Christmas market shortly after 7pm.

As well as Andre, another four women aged between 45 and 75 were killed, with more than 200 injured.
