Sunshine Saturday is said to be one of the biggest booking days of the year, taking place on the first Saturday of the new year. This year « Sunshine Saturday », as it’s known in the travel industry, falls on January 4 and travel firms including Jet2 are already expecting a surge in bookings from those eager to lock in their 2025 plans. Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Sunshine Saturday has always been a busy day for holiday bookings, with people swapping the cold and wet UK for some much-needed sunshine in droves.
« We are expecting this to be the case again this year, and we are ready for a surge in bookings over the weekend. For anyone thinking about booking, we would urge them to act now as the best rooms, best hotels and best destinations are being snapped up fast. »
As a travel journalist, I’m always scanning the latest holiday deals and flight discounts – and with January sales upon us, now is a great time to book if you want to save money.
I’ve rounded up five of my favourite deals on offer right now, from UK staycations to beach breaks, but with thousands of offers available right now, it’s also worth browsing travel provider websites to find the best holiday for your 2025.

Having scanned the sale, two of my favourite offers mean you can jet off to the sun-soaked Greek island of Rhodes in June at a discount.
If you’re after a beach-front stay with a little bit of luxury, Jet2holidays is currently offering a discounted stay at Ixian Grand Hotel & All Suites located in Ixia. At the time of writing, holidaymakers can jet off to The Ixian Grand for £923 per person enjoying an all-inclusive plus package when travelling on May 2, 2025, from London Stansted.
I stayed at Ixian Grand Hotel & All Suites last September and was wowed by the modern amenities, location, service and dining options on offer at this relaxing hotel, giving it a 4.5 out of five stars.
For something a little cheaper, but promising a modern and stylish stay is Cook’s Club Ialyssos, part of Jet2’s Vibe collection. Thanks to the current deal, holidaymakers can save £180 on a week-long stay here in June
Right now, holidaymakers can book a stay in the summer for £740 per person when flying from London Stansted on June 11, 2025.
But you’ll need to be quick to secure these prices as they could go up.
Save £300 on TUI holidays
TUI has as much as £300 off package holidays as part of its January sale with special discount codes for customers. Plus, if you do book a holiday you can do so with a £0 deposit today.
Use code SALE to save £100 when you spend £1,000, £200 when you spend £2,000 or £300 when you spend £3,000.
Some of the best deals on offer are during the peak summer holiday period. Given how many people travel at this time of year, it can be costly. But thanks to the current sale, you can plan ahead for your summer family holiday and save!
Right now, a family of four travelling with two adults and two children can make the most of a free child’s place and save an extra £200 on a stay at Club Candan in Marmaris Turkey when jetting off on August 4, 2025.
The stay includes seven nights self-catering in a one-bedroom apartment when flying from Belfast International, costing £770 per person.

One of the top offers, in my opinion, is the February half-term staycations from £350. UK holiday rentals have surged in price in recent years, so the opportunity to book a break under £500 right now is quite a saving – particularly if you’re travelling with a group where you can share the cost.
I’ve browsed the sales, and one of my favourite offers available right now for less than £400 is a stay at the modern Upper Annex apartment in Wiltshire. The apartment is open plan and boasts incredible views across the countryside, including its own private balcony.
