F1 LIVE: Max Verstappen could rebel as Mercedes take Lewis Hamilton risk | F1 | Sport

Peter Windsor has called out Christian Horner for not resolving tensions between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

The F1 analyst has claimed the pair’s animosity spiraled form last season’s Brazilian Grand Prix where Verstappen ignored team orders and failed to let Perez through.

However he blamed Horner and Red Bull chiefs for not sorting out the issues properly ahead of the new campaign.

Verstappen and Perez were again embroiled in tense talks after the Saudi Arabian GP after it emerged the Dutchman had set the fastest lap.

Windsor explained: “They could have backed off, but every time Max did a good lap, Sergio responded. It’s not what you want when you’ve got an easy one-two, but the matter resolved itself when Max reported that he felt a vibration.

“It was a tense moment from Perez’s point of view, not knowing how much to push the car. This comes back to what happened in Brazil when Verstappen didn’t give the position back, and it hasn’t been resolved by the management.”
