Nigel Farage’s milkshake attacker sentenced after she pleads guilty | UK | News

The OnlyFans model who threw a milkshake at Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has been sentenced to 13 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months.

Victoria Thomas Bowen, 25, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage after she threw a milkshake over Mr Farage outside a pub in Calcton-on-Sea, Essex, during the general election campaign on June 4.

Farage, who went on to win the parliamentary seat for Clacton, had been campaigning at the Moon and Starfish pub on the seafront when the attack happened.

Ms Thomas Bowen also admitted criminal damage after causing £17.50 worth of damage to a jacket belonging to Farage’s security officer James Woolfenden.

During the initial court hearing in October, deputy senior district judge Tan Ikram said: « This was an unprovoked, targeted attack, now on an elected Member of Parliament.

« I take a serious view of these offences.

« I am seeking a pre-sentence report which will consider all options for sentence. »

In a witness statement read out in court, Farage said « this incident caused me concern as I have only been going about my job » and that he tried to « have as much public engagement as possible ».

Ms Thomas Bowen said in a police interview that she had heard of Farage’s attendance at the pub the day before and decided to act while “she had the opportunity” because she did not “agree with his political views”.

Thomas Bowen, who is an OnlyFans model, was sentenced to 13 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, by deputy senior district judge Tan Ikram at the same court on Monday.

He also said she will have to complete 12 rehabilitation activity requirement days, 120 hours of unpaid work and to pay Mr Farage £150 compensation, £17.50 compensation for the criminal damage, £154 victim surcharge and £450 in costs.

Giving details from her police interview, prosecutor Nishma Shah told that Ms Thomas Bowen « did not regret her actions ».

« Milkshaking » – the act of dousing public figures with the drink – was recognised as a word by the Collins Dictionary in 2019.

In August, Josh Greally, of Clowne, Derbyshire was given a suspended sentence after throwing a coffee cup and another item at Mr Farage as he campaigned in Barnsley.

In 2019, Mr Farage was targeted with a milkshake whilst walking in the centre of Newcastle.

Speaking after Ms Thomas Bowen’s attack, Det Ch Insp Rob Huddleston from Essex Police said: “It is vital that democracy is allowed to take place and we police without fear or favour.

“Disagreeing with someone’s political views is not an excuse to use violence or intimidation.

“Elected officials and people standing for elected office, like any member of the public, must be allowed to go about their business without fear for their safety.”
