Peter Phillips has revealed the official date for his wedding to his fiancée, Harriet Sperling. The 48-year-old announced his engagement to his then-girlfriend last year, with the date of their nuptials publicly unknown until today.
The statement shared on Wednesday read: « Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today announced their wedding date. The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in a private ceremony… »

Who is Harriet?
Harriet Eleanor Sander was born to Mary Hoskins and Rupert Sanders in 1980. She is the second youngest of four siblings, with two sisters and one brother.
According to an online biography, Harriet has worked as a Paediatric Nurse Specialist for the NHS, and is « passionate about early brain development in babies and seeing children thrive ».
Like Peter, who shares two daughters with his ex-wife Autumn, Harriet is a mother of one daughter named Georgia.
In an essay for Women Alive, Harriet penned her experience as a single mother. She wrote: « In the earlier years of my journey as a single mother to my daughter, resources were scarce, and the future was uncertain. Yet, in the absence of material security, I discovered the strength and life that comes from true selfless love. A love that is able to be solely devoted to your child. »
Who is Peter?
Peter is Princess Anne’s eldest child with her first husband, Mark Phillips. The former couple also share a daughter, Zara Tindall.
The royal wedded Autumn Phillips in 2008, and the former couple welcomed their first daughter, Savannah, now aged 15, in December 2010.
They welcomed Isla, now aged 14, in March 2012. Peter and Autumn – who is Canadian – reportedly successfully co-parent their daughters since their split in 2019. The pair officially divorced in 2021.
With Anne as his mother, Peter is the eldest nephew of King Charles – and a cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry.

How did Harriet meet Peter?
The couple are believed to have met at a sporting event involving their children.
Harriet made her debut with Peter Phillips at Badminton Horse Trials in May 2024.
She soon became a regular at the royal racing circuit and appears to share a close relationship with Peter’s sister Zara Tindall.
Peter will be the first royal of his generation to divorce and remarry.

When will be wedding take place?
Peter and Harriet’s wedding is set to take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The wedding will be a private event and will take place at All Saints Church in Kemble, Cirencester.
The royals will likely be in attendance, with King Charles and Queen Camilla said to have been informed of the wedding date.
The Prince and Princess have also, according to today’s statement, been informed of the happy news.
