Wetherspoon pubs across England, Wales and Northern Ireland will reduce the price of Guinness to mark St Patrick’s Day on Monday, March 17. The price of a pint for the traditional Irish drink will be reduced from £3.60 to £3.15 across more than 670 pubs.
As St Patrick’s Day coincides with the Wetherspoon’s Monday Club promotion, many other items will be reduced for those who aren’t Guinness fans. A baby Guinness, a layered shot cocktail with a dark coffee liqueur at the bottom and Irish cream liqueur on top, will cost £8 for two. Other price drops include a pint of Worthington’s for £1.49, a pint of Carling for £2.49 and a range of spirits such as Gordon’s Pink Gin for £1.99 with a mixer.
In Wetherspoon’s Scottish pubs, which do not offer the Monday Club prices, a pint of Guinness will be available from £2.99 to mark St Patrick’s Day.
Wetherspoons also launched a Spring Beer Festival on 5 March, which finishes on Sunday just before St Patrick’s Day, with up to 30 international beers starting at £1.69 in some pubs.
Customers also get the option to buy a tasting flight, with three third-of-a-pint tasters for the price of one pint.
The tipples range from 3.8% to a punchy 6%, featuring a chocolate porter from Italy, a Wallaby tipple from Australia, and a Canadian Land and Sea Estuary session ale.
It comes as Wetherspoon has announced closures of some of its branches, including a city-centre pub in Coventry and a seaside location in Poole.
The pub in Poole is set to close within days, while the closure date for Coventry has not yet been confirmed.
