Although public scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor remains intense following the former prince’s connection with the late convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew will still be able to hold onto two luxuries, it has been reported.
Earlier this month, Andrew left his former home, which he shared with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. Despite now living at the modest Marsh Farm, which is a downgrade from the 30-room mansion at Royal Lodge in Windsor, Andrew will still enjoy two amenities. A source told the Sun: « He will be given his own chef and valet at Marsh Farm which is a climbdown to the luxury he was previously afforded. »
It is a stark contrast to his former home at Royal Lodge in Windsor, where Andrew had valets, chefs, butlers, housemaids and cleaners, plus an army of servants when using his former apartment at Buckingham Palace.
It is understood Charles is now funding his younger brother’s exile and retirement because he does not want the former Duke of York to be a burden on others.
On Andrew’s 66th birthday, the former prince was arrested by Thames Valley Police, on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and released under investigation 11 hours later. Andrew held the role of the UK’s trade envoy from 2001 to 2011, giving him privileged access to senior Government and business contacts around the world.

Andrew has strongly denied all accusations made against him in relation to the late financier.
Within hours of his arrest, King Charles released a statement, which read: « I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.
« As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all. »
