Donald Trump’s approval ratings have dropped to an all-time low, a new poll suggests, as Americans seemingly turn on the President following his decision to launch strikes on Iran. The poll suggests that the President’s approval rating has dropped to 44%, a fall of four points since Friday, the day before the launch of Operation Epic Fury, and the lowest figure recorded by the Daily Mail, which published the poll carried out alongside with J.L. Partners, in its tracking of the US President’s approval ratings since January.
The decline appears to coincide with rising public anxiety over the escalating conflict in the Middle East, particularly after the deaths of six American service members. According to the survey, only 24% of those polled said they believe that targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader would make the US safer, while 55% feel that recent American strikes on Iran have actually increased the likelihood of terror attacks on US soil.
In addition, 40% of voters report that their opinion of President Trump has grown more negative over the past week, compared with 26% who say their view has improved.
One of the respondents said: « My view of Trump has become more negative because he has just started a war when he said he wasn’t going to. »
Another said: « I’m not sure that the decision of war which he has taken is a good thing. I hate wars in general. »
The ratings come days after the US and Israel carried out a joint strike on Iran, killing the country’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei. Iran retilated the strikes and since then several Middle Eastern countries have been impacted with many people stranded due to flight suspension.

The data shows that 59% of respondents who now view President Trump more negatively say the primary reason is the ongoing conflict with Iran.
On Wednesday, US War Secretary Pete Hegseth held a media briefing at the Pentagon, where he announced the US had sunk an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean.
During his Pentagon briefing, Mr Hegseth didn’t give a definitive timeline for US operations.
“You can say four weeks, but it could be six, it could be eight, it could be three,” he said. “Ultimately, we set the pace and the tempo. The enemy is off balance, and we’re going to keep them off balance.”
He also added that the US is « fighting to win ».
