Tottenham have Roberto De Zerbi plan in place as Spurs ready to axe Igor Tudor | Football | Sport

Tottenham are formulating contingency plans to potentially appoint Sean Dyche as their next manager until the end of the season. The development comes with caretaker coach Igor Tudor expected to be sacked. Spurs presently sit 17th position in the Premier League table and sit merely one point clear of the relegation zone with just nine games remaining.

Consequently, there has been speculation that Tottenham may consider another managerial change before the season concludes. Dyche has previously been linked to the manager’s role at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and could step in to replace Tudor. According to The Telegraph, Tottenham have identified Dyche as a potential candidate but only if their primary target for the role, Roberto De Zerbi, proves unwilling to accept the position until the summer.

The report suggests that Spurs might turn to Dyche if De Zerbi says no. Dyche was most recently the manager of Nottingham Forest prior to his dismissal in February and has expertise in helping multiple clubs avoid Premier League relegation, including Everton and Burnley.

De Zerbi’s most recent role was as manager of Marseille, and he has been linked with a Premier League return since his exit from the Ligue 1 club last month.

In addition to being linked with the Tottenham managerial position, De Zerbi has also been touted as a potential long-term successor at Manchester United this summer.

Spurs are identifying multiple potential managerial candidates should Tudor depart the club before Spurs’ next match.

The report also claims that Tottenham will finalise their decision regarding Tudor’s future on Monday, although it remains unclear whether this will result in his departure.

Tudor’s father tragically passed away last weekend, with the Croatian informed shortly after the 3-0 loss to Forest on Sunday.

Tottenham are not due back in action until April 12, when they will journey to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland in an attempt to distance themselves from the relegation spots.

Spurs have seven Premier League fixtures remaining this season and could find themselves in the relegation zone by the time they kick off against Sunderland, should West Ham triumph over Wolves on April 10.
