Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky humiliated by Igor Tudor as flop storms down tunnel | Football | Sport

Antonin Kinsky was brutally substituted after 15 minutes of Tottenham’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid after the goalkeeper made two howlers leading to goals. Interim manager Igor Tudor had made the bold decision to usher Kinsky into the team in place of Guglielmo Vicario for the first leg of the tie against Atletico.

Things got off to the worst possible start when Kinsky, on his Champions League debut, slipped while trying to play the ball out from the back, with Marcos Llorente eventually netting the opener. There was another slip in the build-up to Atletico’s second, this time from Micky van de Ven, with Antoine Griezmann punishing the mistake to pile on the misery.

There was little Kinsky could’ve done about the second, but he was once again left with egg on his face for the third, as another slip mere seconds after the restart saw Julian Alvarez make it three. By that point, Tudor had seen enough, and Vicario was immediately sent out to get warmed up. A heartbroken Kinsky trudged off the pitch, and stormed straight down the tunnel in distressing scenes.

No sooner had the change between the sticks been made, were Spurs 4-0 down. Vicario did show why he probably should’ve been involved from the off by stopping a stray Kevin Danso header going in as an own goal, but Robin Le Normand was on hand to convert from close range.

By this point, some of the Spurs fans who made the trip to the Spanish capital were already seen heading for the exit, but in what continued to be a bizarre opening half, a fifth goal of the game was scored. The only surprise this time was that Spurs were the goalscorers, with Christian Romero meeting a header to reduce the arrears.
