Thug, 20, kicked ‘incredibly vulnerable’ homeless woman in head | UK | News

Police have issued a mugshot of a cowardly thug who kicked an « incredibly vulnerable » homeless woman in the head in an unprovoked attack. Aaron Nomicas, 20, was walking through Market Walk in Salisbury, Wiltshire, when he launched his violent attack, kicking the woman as she was lying on the ground at about 3am on January 17.

The woman, who is in her 50s and had just been trying to keep warm, was injured in the face, but police said the wounds were not life-changing. Nomicas, of Larkhill, had to be held back by pals from inflicting more blows on the woman after she called him a coward.

Nomicas appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 6, after pleading guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was jailed for six months.

Sgt Joshua Bliss from Wiltshire Police said: « This was a highly impactful case – the victim is incredibly vulnerable and had no way of protecting herself, or escaping from, this vicious and unprovoked attack. »

The force said it was called on the same day as the attack. Nomicas was arrested after what the force described as a « swift » investigation, which included officers scouring CCTV.

Sgt Bliss said the woman was sitting in Salisbury city centre with her dog, Lance, minding her own business and simply trying to keep warm when Nomicas launched his attack.

« The suspect was unknown to the victim, and within only two hours of the investigation commencing, CID detectives and neighbourhood officers identified and located the offender. »

He said the woman described Nomicas as a coward in her account and all those involved in the police investigation shared the same opinion of him.

The officer added: « This court result should send a clear message – if you are someone who preys on the most vulnerable and defenceless members of our community, we will swiftly track you down and we will bring you to justice. »
