The tiny UK seaside town that’s perfect for starting off a winter walk | Travel News | Travel

There’s no place like the coast to enjoy a brisk winter walk and this seaside town is the perfect place to start.

When the weather turns colder, many look away from the coast, but it can be refreshing to breathe in the chilly fresh air. Even in colder weather, this town still amazes people.

Deal, in Kent, is not overcrowded with tourists but instead is the perfect quiet town to enjoy a stroll around before heading out towards the coast. According to Time Out, the scenic walk from Deal to Sandwich Bay is a relatively easy nine kilometres that’ll likely take you about two hours.

With autumn soon turning to winter, you won’t want to miss out on the chance to enjoy this walk before it’s too cold.

One visitor on Tripadvisor who walked along Deal beach said: “It is not as crowded as other beaches.

“You can find benches to sit down on or you can sit next to the sea and you still have plenty of space around you.”

Deal is a great place for a staycation and it has plenty on offer tourists.

If you visit Deal on a Saturday, it’s also worth visiting the local market and the farmer’s market. The market is held every Saturday from 9am until 2pm, April to October.

At the market, you’ll find stalls selling clothes, cleaning products, tools, homewear, fresh food and local cheese.

Another must-visit place is Deal Castle, one of the most impressive Tudor artillery castles in England.

If you’re looking for a bite to eat, you can try fresh, locally caught fish at one of Deal’s waterfront bistros or cosy eateries which you’ll find tucked away in the town centre.

Deal is located on England’s south east coast, it is around 20 minutes away from Dover and around 35 minutes from Canterbury.

For an invigorating walk and a restful break, this is the perfect place to head to before the end of the year.
