Summer is quickly approaching and Brits will be looking to book a holiday for some time in the sun. For those looking to splash out on a high end trip, a recent study has revealed the cheapest European country for a luxury five-star stay.

Analysts from Kinglike Concierge used four metrics to conclude the nation where you can get the most luxury for your money. These are the cheapest price of five-star accomodation, the cheapest business class return flight, average price of a spa treatment and average price of a Michelin starred meal.

After going through the data and tallying up the total cost, the analysts found that Spain came out on top. The total cost of the metrics came out at £858, which was cheaper than all other European holiday hotspots.

Spain welcomes over 85m visitors from across the world every year. According to Booking.com, the cheapest price of a seven-night stay in a five-star hotel from a Saturday in July, August or September this year is £376.

Meanwhile, the cost of a business class flight from London, according to Kayak, is £412. The average price of a massage in Spain, according to massageprices.com, is £70 while you can get a Michelin Star meal for £128.

On the other hand, Malta came out as the most expensive country for a five-star stay with Switzerland closely behind in second. The cheapest country for five-star accomodation was Turkey, with one hotel available at £260 per week.

Belgium ranked as the cheapest location for a return business class flight and Turkey was the cheapest for high-end spa treatment. Finally, Malta was the cheapest country for a Michelin Star meal at just £104.
