A new royal book brings fresh insight into the lives of the Prince and Princess of Wales and some of the stories included are very telling. The new biography, William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, by the Mirror‘s royal editor Russell Myers, takes a look at some of the most major events to have taken place for the future King and future Queen in recent years.

The book will be released on February 26, 2026. It promises exclusive access to palace insiders and never-before-seen context on some of the biggest stories of the last few years, including Catherine’s health ordeal, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s banishment following the Jeffrey Epstein revelations.

Here, the Express takes a look at four of the biggest bombshells to be included in the new royal book.

Prince William’s ‘explosive rows’ with King Charles over Andrew exposed for first time

The Prince of Wales allegedly had “rows” with his father, King Charles, as he “challenged” his approach when it came to dealing with his disgraced brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

William was allegedly furious that Charles invited Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to spend Christmas with the Royals at Sandringham in 2023.

But he was said to have been “put in his place” by his father and decided not to provoke him any further.

The future King has always raised objections to the disgraced uncle, including after his disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview and before.

Mr Myers writes in his book: “William’s negative view of his uncle Andrew had predated the Duke of York’s fall from grace. For years the Prince of Wales had questioned what benefit his uncle was to the wider operation.

“‘Long before he was embroiled in the scandal [involving Virginia Giuffre and Jeffrey Epstein], he’d always thought his uncle was a bit of an ignoramus’, a palace source revealed. ‘He would question ‘what does he actually do?’.”

Prince William bombshell as it’s revealed he ‘tried to get Andrew banished in 2019’

William’s first efforts to banish Andrew first came in 2019, after his uncle appeared on the BBC and failed to apologise over his friendship with the convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

The prince was said to be at pains to stress how important it was for his father, the then-Prince Charles and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, to take action on shamed Andrew.

The author writes: “The interview was a disaster, not only for Andrew, whose reputation was in tatters, but for the monarchy at large. Suddenly, the palace was engaged in a full-scale firefight, with deepening questions over its relevance in a modern world, even its survival.

“In the aftermath, William spoke to his father to implore him and the Queen to take immediate action, fearing not only the public backlash but for his own future.

“A source said: ‘Once you understand the fact that everything that happens in the here and now, affects everything in the future, William’s future, it is very easy to put yourself in his shoes. He never much liked his uncle and wanted him out of the picture immediately before the rot further set in.

“’William’s view was that he [Andrew] got himself into the whole mess, so he should be left to his own devices to sort it out away from the family.’”

Furious William wanted Andrew banished for good – ‘stain on the Royal Family’

The heir’s true feelings about his disgraced uncle are also revealed in the book, which alleges that William views Andrew as a “stain on all of the family”.

A palace source close to William says: “The Prince of Wales was adamant the whole episode [the Epstein revelations] would never go away and, despite how others may have felt, there was absolutely no upside in Andrew being protected.”

The book alleges: « His view was crystal clear, Andrew shouldn’t be anywhere near the family under any circumstances, not by association, not at family functions, anywhere.

« Every single time there was a new revelation, which no one knew when it was coming or what the next one would be, it was a stain on all of the family. »

Prince William and Princess Kate ‘totally united’ in wanting Andrew out of Royal Family for good

William is also said to be “aligned” with his wife, Princess Catherine, when it comes to dealing with Andrew.

An extract from the book read: “With every Balmoral meet-up or Christmas walkabout that came around, questions were raised as to how close to the King, or William, Andrew actually was.

“Did the Royal Family think this would all blow over if they kept quiet, or kept him close? William and Catherine have never seen it that way.”

The book also states that Andrew’s lack of accountability, with him repeatedly denying any wrongdoing, was “terminal” to William and Catherine’s relationship with him.
