A gorgeous quiet region in Spain is offering Brits almost £2,500 to move there plus another bonus for every newborn in your family.
Ponga in Asturias is offering British people £2,477 to live in the region, and will add another £2,477 for every baby born.
As well as this, Euronews reports that residents enjoy a 60 per cent reduction in their IBI (local property tax) and a 95 per cent discount on the Tax on the Increase in the Value of Urban Land for properties that are inherited.
Ponga also provides a social housing option at £41.64 per month for those wishing to start a business or project in the village. In order to take advantage of the offer, Brits have to commit to living in Ponga for five years or more.
This isn’t much of a catch though: Ponga is a stunning region which offers awe-inspiring hikes, easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and prime bird watching spots.
Wayne Mills, the Head of Operations at Seven Seas Worldwide, said: “Ponga is a little off the beaten track for tourists, but its mountainous landscape is absolutely jaw-dropping.
« It’s the perfect place to live in tune with nature – and the region produces amazing wines!
“It’s a win-win: you get a fresh start and a helping hand, while local economies enjoy a much-needed boost.”
The town is surrounded by a UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve in the surrounding Cantabrian Mountains. The region offers several stunning hikes amid wildflowers and gentlly meandering rivers, as well as soaring mountains.
One of these walks is the 9.2 kilometre circular Ruta del Valle de Ponga route which begins outside San Juan de Beleño, very close to the town hall and then winds through the woodland.
Described as being of moderate difficulty, the track is popular in the summer months but quietens down in the shoulder season.
The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a lead.
As well as the beautiful landscape, Ponga also has a whopping 2000 hours of sunlight across the year so you can sunbathe to your hearts content.
