Tennis star lashes out after Danielle Collins makes ‘DM’s’ claim | Tennis | Sport

Miami Open star Corentin Moutet has angrily hit back at claims that he has unfollowed and ‘slid into the DMs’ of Danielle Collins. The American has become a pundit on the Tennis Channel, where she has delivered some viral moments.

The latest concerns a story over the social media activity of French player Moutet, both before and after his clash against Tomas Machac. Moutet won the match in three sets to set up a match against Jannik Sinner in the next round.

The Tennis Channel claims that Moutet was ‘cat-calling’ Collins as she watched him practising ahead of his match. Collins then said: “I basically said to him, I said, ‘If you’re going to be flirting with me like that, you’re going to have to get a bigger serve.’

“Some people think it comes down to height, some people think it comes down to personality, but what it really comes down to is big forehands and big serves.”

She then added: “It was kind of funny too, because he unfollowed me after my viral dating profile, when I said I wasn’t interested in the short kings. Come on people, you have to understand that I’m 5’10 and for me, right, it’s fair, it’s a preference, nothing against the short kings but he was upset about that and he messaged me and unfollowed me.

“Now he slid back into the DMs last night, asking me if I saw his match and all of the big serves he was hitting.”

Quoting the clip on his own personal X (formerly Twitter) page, Moutet furiously denied the claims as he issued a fiery statement in response.

“How can I unfollow you when I never followed you,” he wrote. “@TennisChannel how can you let someone say BS like this on tv. You followed me.

“You asked me for mixed dubs. And I’ve never even followed you.

“You ready to say anything so people talks about you. You should learn how to love yourself so you won’t have to do stupid things for people loves.

“@TennisChannel good sport journalist.”

Moutet is back in action on Monday as he takes on World No. 2 Sinner in the round of 32.
