Starting tomorrow, Britain’s top tipster will give you a week’s worth of tips each Tuesday | Racing | Sport

Horse racing fans, get ready to level up your betting game! Starting tomorrow, our Premium subscribers will be able to access a week’s worth of tips from the very best in the business.

Melissa Jones, aka The Scout, is the current Racing Post National Press Challenge champion after she led the field of 11 tipsters to the finish in 2025.

The prestigious competition, comprising 11 of the UK’s top tipsters, spanned the whole of 2025 and was based on more than 9,600 selections. Our very own Melissa was first past the post, making her the best in Britain.

She set a new record in February by finishing top of the standings for a fourth month on the trot. Luckily for Premium subscribers, she will be providing her tips for each week’s biggest races as part of a new weekly column.

The first edition will be published tomorrow and it’s not to be missed!

Melissa knows better than anyone where there are winnings to be had. Last year, she successfully backed Gracchus Du Balme to win the Randox Foxhunters’ Open Hunters Chase at Aintree at odds of 22/1.

She followed that up with her 25/1 selection, Time For Sandals, at Royal Ascot before using her knowledge of all-weather racing to pick out the likes of Final Night (16/1), Poke The Bear (22/1), Gunlock (18/1), Aeolian (16/1) and Society Man (22/1).

Speaking after being crowned Britain’s best tipster, Melissa said: «  »After being caught in the closing stages of the Naps table on quite a few occasions, I wasn’t sure my time would come!

« More than 9,600 selections later, I’m absolutely delighted to have got over the line in the most stamina-sapping of competitions.

« My main aim this year was to take my all-weather tipping up a notch and I am particularly pleased to have achieved that.

« All of this could not be possible without the support of my colleagues on the racing desk, who are a brilliant team to work with. »

Make sure to check back on Tuesday for Melissa’s first batch of weekly tips, exclusively available to Premium subscribers.
