Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a schoolgirl was allegedly grabbed by two men outside a Co-op. Sussex Police were called at around 10.30am on December 13 to reports of the incident in Southwater, West Sussex.
The girl, 11, was outside the shop in Lintot Square, where it is understood one man went to shake her hand. He then reportedly refused to let go and tried to drag her away before she broke free and ran to safety. The force said both men, in their 40s or 50s, were wearing dark coloured hoodies and described them as « Indian or Asian ».
One was around 5ft tall and or was of large build, and the other was around 5’4″ and of slim build, Sussex Police added.
Officers are now going through CCTV, though they have not yet identified any suspects or made arrests.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said: « CCTV enquiries have been undertaken. However at this time, no suspects have been identified.
« If you witnessed any unusual behaviour, or have any information to report, contact police online, or by calling 101 quoting reference 654 of 13/12. »
