A new documentary will air this weekend just days before an ITV drama focused on Sarah Ferguson‘s former aide Jane Andrews. The programme, which is titled « Crime of Passion? The Trial of Jane Andrews« , examines how the royal’s former personal dresser killed her boyfriend, Tom Cressman, at their Fulham flat in September 2000.
Bruce Houlder KC, who led the prosecution, says in the documentary: « Obviously, this was different because of its connection to the Duchess of York.
« She’d been responsible for looking after the Queen’s grandchildren and had a very high-profile life. »
Jane began her role alongside the former Duchess of York in 1988 after replying to a job advertisement in The Lady magazine.
Aged 21 at the time, her appointment coincided with the birth of Princess Beatrice in August 1988.
Working with the royals, Jane worked closely with both of Sarah’s daughters – also including Princess Eugenie, who was born in 1990.
The Lady will comprise four episodes with instalments one and two broadcasting on Sunday, February 22, and Monday, February 23, and episodes three and four the subsequent Sunday and Monday.
