Sarah Ferguson checked into one of the most expensive wellness clinics in the world as Andrew got sucked further into controversy in recent weeks, it has been claimed. Fergie took refuge in the world-renowned Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, over a month ago, reports state.
The ex-Duchess of York has not been seen in public since her fleeting appearance at her granddaughter Athena’s Christening at St James’s Palace on December 12, prompting global speculation on where she has been living.
On Thursday, he ex-husband Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct in a public office. He has always denied wrongoing and has not been charged by police.
A Swiss source told the Daily Mail: « Sarah left for Zurich just after Christmas, and stayed until the end of January.
»She always feels at home at Paracelsus, and knows she’ll get love and attention there, as well as expert health treatment when she’s feeling at her most vulnerable. »

The lakeside clinic offers several different month-long recovery programmes for wealthy clients, and it charges around £24,000 for a three-day « comprehensive check-up ».
A friend of Sarah’s in Switzerland told the outlet: « Sarah has built up a strong relationship with Paracelsus, so it was the obvious place for her to get away from everything. »
Sarah’s check in comes as emails from the latest drop of the Epstein files, released by the Department of Justice, revealed that the former duchess and her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, had kept up their close friendship with the paedophile even after he was first convicted.
Embarrassing emails showed her begging Epstein to reportedly help pay off her mounting debts. In 2009, after the crash of a business venture, Sarah appears to write to Epstein: « I urgently need 20,000 pounds ($27,521) for rent today. The landlord has threatened to go to the newspapers if I don’t pay. Any brainwaves? »
In another email, she issued a grovelling apology for publicly denouncing him, claiming it had only been to protect her career as a children’s author, telling him he had been a « steadfast, generous and supreme friend ».
Being named in the Epstein files does not prove any wrongdoing.
