Writing in The Daily Mail, columnist Amanda Platell said Sarah, 66, is reportedly seeking “a number of branding and commercial opportunities” as “a mother and philanthropist”, as reported by The Sun.
It is also believed that Sarah is aiming to become a “a leader of the female positivity world” in a role similar to that of former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Amanda wrote in her column: “It really is a laugh till you cry moment. It makes Fergie’s apparent absence of remorse for her actions all the more astonishing.
“She’s shown not a shred of self-awareness or given any inkling she understands how much she is loathed.”
Amanda continued: “That a woman who spent decades consorting with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein – and accepted thousands of pounds from him – believes she can be reborn as a female role model fighting for women and girls beggars belief.”
Sarah, alongside her ex husband Andrew, has faced scandals surrounding her past friendship with Epstein over recent weeks. This is because it was revealed that Sarah had emailed Epstein in 2011 and apologised to him – her “supreme friend” – after criticising him in a media interview following his release from prison for child sex offences.
It has been said by the former duchess’ spokesperson that Sarah only sent the email out of fear Epstein would sue her for defamation.
It has also been reported that Sarah and her two daughters “celebrated” Epstein’s release from prison – a claim that Sarah has reportedly denied to friends.
