Sara Sharif’s evil stepmother is friends with baby killer Lucy Letby in jail | UK | News

Sara Sharif’s evil stepmother has become friends with serial baby killer Lucy Letby in prison.

Beinash Batool, 30, plays cards and chats with Letby, 34, on the same secure wing where the pair are held for their own protection.

A prison insider said the pair live on the same wing with all the other « lifers » and hang out on the landing most days, chatting and playing cards.

The insider told the Mirror: « The child killers always stick together because they want to protect themselves so it doesn’t surprise me in the least that they get along so well. »

Letby is serving 15 whole-life terms after being convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill seven more at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.

Besides Letby, Batool is close to Michelle Smith, who was convicted of murdering her six-month-old daughter Amy by poisoning her with adult painkillers in 2007.

Sharon Carr is another pal of Batool’s, according to the insider. Carr became Britain’s youngest female murderer when she stabbed Katie Rackliff 30 times in a random attack in Camberley, Surrey, in 1992.

The source at Category A Bronzefield prison, near Ashford, said: « Beinash is also friends with Michelle and Sharon. They all live in house block four which is a really nice wing.

« They have privileges like their own room with an en suite shower, bigger beds and access to a private courtyard.

« It’s like you’re wrapped in cotton wool so there’s no risk of being attacked or anything like that. »

Sara’s father, Urfan Sharif, 42, and Batool were found guilty of her murder on Wednesday at the Old Bailey. Her uncle, Faisal Malik, 29, was convicted of causing or allowing her death.

Jurors at the Old Bailey heard Sara died after years of horrific abuse, including being burned, bitten and beaten by the very people who should have been looking after her.

Sara was found dead under the covers of a bunk bed at the family home in Woking, Surrey, on August 10, 2023, after Sharif called police from Pakistan and said he had beaten her up « too much ».

A post-mortem examination found Sara had more than 25 broken bones, from being hit repeatedly with a cricket bat, metal pole and mobile phone.

She had a broken hyoid bone in her neck from being throttled, human bite marks on her arm and thigh and burn marks on her buttocks and feet.

Video of one of Batool’s police interviews shows the cold-hearted killer replied « no comment » when asked if she loved Sara.

In the 68-second clip, Batool replies « no comment » to seven questions from officers, including « Do you love Sara? », « Did you care about her at all? », « What did you see? » and « What happened to Sara? ».

Batool, Sharif and Malik are due to be sentenced on Tuesday.
