A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police also said a driver has been arrested on suspicion of attempted Section 18 assault.
Here is the full statement: « Two pedestrians, a male and a female, have been injured. At this stage, their injuries are not believed to be life‑threatening and are currently reported as minor.
« A significant road closure has been in place to support emergency services and investigative work. This closure remains in effect but is expected to be lifted within the next hour.
« Enquiries continue. The driver has been arrested on suspicion of attempted Section 18 assault, and their medical state is currently being assessed. »
