A huge new change to the Sainsbury’s customer experience has now been launched. Sainsbury’s loyalty programme is now on Deliveroo, meaning members can now collect points while shopping with the grocery giant via the app.
Now, while placing an order through participating Sainsbury’s shops, customers will be able to insert the card number registered to their Nectar account at checkout and collect points, The Grocer reported. One Nectar point will be earned for every £1 spent on the supermarket’s eligible items that have been bought via Deliveroo.
Deliveroo vice president of new verticals Suzy McClintock said: « This integration is a massive win for our customers, who can now earn points on their Sainsbury’s grocery orders, further establishing Deliveroo as the go-to destination for on-demand convenience and loyalty.
« We are delighted to be welcoming Nectar, one of the UK’s most valued and far-reaching loyalty schemes, to Deliveroo. »
Deliveroo has announced that it is the first delivery platform to support Nectar, which has a membership base of approximately 24 million and over 500 partners. From today, shoppers can start collecting their points while using the Deliveroo app or website.
Back in July, Morrisons announced the roll-out of its More Card prices for Deliveroo shoppers, following the launch of its loyalty scheme on the delivery app earlier in the year.
B&Q has also recently extended its partnership with the delivery service and will now trial its service beyond London and Brighton, taking it to a further 29 major UK cities and towns.
