Princess Anne has skipped signing her 2025 Christmas card with a royal title, and royal fans can’t believe it. The Governor of Queensland, Australia’s office, posted the Princess Royal’s Christmas card on Instagram, sharing the sweet post with followers.
The card read: « With Best Wishes for a Happy and Peaceful Christmas and New Year, » read a message printed inside the white card. » In a hand-written pen, it was simply signed « from Anne and Tim, » referring to Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence – much to the surprise of fans. The photo was of Anne and her husband travelling by carriage when they visited Sark in the Channel Islands in May 2025. Commenting on the simplicity of the autograph, one person added: « What? She didn’t sign it ‘The Princess Royal? Of course not, she’s too classy for that. »
One X user wrote: « No need to blow the trumpet with the princess title and yet impactful. I like it! »
Another said: « Beautiful card. Such a lovely photo of them both. Love that Tim’s name is also on the card. Wishing them both a Merry and Peaceful Christmas! »
A social media user commented: « The Princess Royal doesn’t need anyone to pompously announce her arrival. On her 2025 Christmas card she signs her name simply as ‘Anne’. »
Another added: « I deeply respect Anne for so many reasons, but the main reasons are her loyalty and work ethic. Incredible person. »
On the Instagram post shared by the Governor of Queensland’s office, the picture showed her royal monogram on the front part of the card, which was a coronet over the letter « A » printed.
Princess Anne is known for her driven approach to royal duty and has been considered the hardest-working member of the Firm by count of official engagements recorded in The Court Circular.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are another royal couple who don’t sign their Christmas cards either, as evidenced by their Christmas card released last week – but many fans criticised their card for it not being a typical Christmas photo.
It featured a photo of the King and Queen taken by royal photographer Chris Jackson at Villa Wolkonsky in Rome in April to commemorate their 20th wedding anniversary.
