Meghan Markle has suffered plenty of criticism this week after she announced the rebranding of her lifestyle business, with one royal expert believing the duchess is « clearly aware » of people mocking her.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, announced her new brand As Ever this week in a video posted to her Instagram account @meghan, where she addressed the new brand name and what people can expect.
In the video, the duchess revealed that the brand would be selling products that are important to her and even referenced the fact she would be selling jam – something people have mocked her for since last year when she sent out her own jam to friends to try when she was set to trade under the name American Riviera Orchard.
Speaking on The Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast, royal editor Rebecca English said Meghan will be aware of the criticism and jokes being made at her expense.
Rebecca said: « She’s obviously clearly aware of some of the criticism, and but also the way people have taken the mickey out of her for kind of sending pots of numbered jam off to friends who have done sort of clunky adverts for them on Instagram. She clearly is aware of this otherwise she wouldn’t reference this in her video. »
