Ras Laffan oil refinery in Qatar has reportedly been attacked in an Iranian missile strike. « Emergency response teams were deployed immediately to contain the resulting fires, as extensive damage has been caused, » QatarEnergy wrote on social media.
All staff members are accounted for, and there are currently no casualties, the statement said. Ras Laffan is home to a refinery that Iranian state media had earlier said was a target and should be evacuated. The oil refinery is one of the world’s leading LNG production sites, coming under focus after Iran issued threats of retaliation.
