Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are reportedly set to hold « crisis talks » after their father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest on Thursday. Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, are said to be « utterly horrified » and « very distressed » after their father’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Royal author Ingrid Seward has told the Daily Mail that Beatrice and Eugenie will likely be « doubting everything » in relation to their father over the years.
She told the publication: « All the doubts will have come crashing in – those holidays they had as children, the funds their father put in their bank account, all the lovely things they enjoyed.
« Somewhere in their minds, they’ll be wondering where that money really came from.
« Sadly, they’re going to start doubting everything their father ever told them. »
While it was reported that this was to the extent that Beatrice and Eugenie were no longer talking to Andrew, this is now not believed to be the case.
A friend of the family told HELLO! « The sisters are not abandoning their father. They aren’t turning their backs on him.
« But everything is obviously very strained and hard. »
