Prince Louis may be about to go on his first royal tour abroad | Royal | News

Prince Louis could soon pass a major royal milestone – one that his siblings and younger cousin have already reached. The young royal, who will celebrate his seventh birthday next month, is yet to travel aboard as part of a royal tour but could soon have the opportunity to do so due to his mum’s latest admission. During a recent candid chat, the Princess of Wales said that she hoped to take her children – Prince George, 11, and 9-year-old Princess Charlotte and Louis – to either Australia or New Zealand.

Prince George travelled to Australia and New Zealand with his parents back in 2014. Like her older brother, Princess Charlotte made her overseas debut in Canada in 2016. Born in 2018, Louis is yet to go on a tour with his parents.

Kate said on Monday: « George finds it fascinating that he has been to Australia and New Zealand. I would like to go back there with them now. It’s finding time to do that. But I love to travel – yes, it’s a long flight. But I love the Middle East because that’s familiar to me [from] growing up. There are so many opportunities now to travel, I think it’s brilliant to experience it. »

She added: « We tend to go further afield when it’s official visits, it’s being able to carve out time to experience these countries in a more private capacity.

« Because otherwise you end up seeing lots of insides of amazing buildings but you don’t get to meet that many… people

« It’s making sure that you can combine a bit of work with… the children. I might see you down there! »

But Kensington Palace have released no details of any upcoming royal tours where Kate and the children might attend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex even travelled to South Africa with Prince Archie in 2019 – meaning that the now-five-year-old reached the milestone in travel before his older cousin.

As well as their trips in 2014 and 2016, George and Charlotte also travelled to Poland and Germany with their parents in 2017.

Much like his two elder children, Prince William first travelled overseas to Australia at 10 months old.

Prince Harry – who is two years younger than William – first travelled abroad to Italy for a royal visit at eight months old.
