The former Duke and Duchess of York found themselves in hot water after several embarrassing revelations about their association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein emerged in the latest document dump by the US Department of Justice. Their downward spiral culminated last week when police arrested Andrew on suspicion of misconduct in public office during his time as the UK trade envoy. He was released after 11 hours under investigation.
Being mentioned in the Epstein files does not indicate wrongdoing. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing and Fergie has publicly condemned Epstein.
Beatrice and Eugenie have kept a low profile since then, working on their own individual projects and not commenting on their parents’ affairs.
Now, sources claimed Harry and Meghan, who gave their own bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey in 2021 after they quit the Royal Family, allegedly think that it would be a great idea if the royal sisters did the same.
A source told Closer magazine: “Meghan and Harry both feel like it’s a great idea for Beatrice and Eugenie to tell their side of things. They can clarify exactly how close their parents were to him at the very least.”
The source claimed that the Sussexes have offered to introduce Beatrice and Eugenie to publishers and agents that can “help them put together a deal”, which would result in both of them “earning a lot of money in the process”.
But they said the sisters find this prospect “daunting” and ultimately, it is one which could blow the whole Royal Family “apart”.
They added: “Ultimately, this decision rests with Beatrice and Eugenie alone and they’re at a crossroads, at least when it comes to the memoir.
“They do want to draw a line and move forward but it’s quite daunting. They’ve been defined by association for too long.
“If they’re going to steady the ship for their own families, it may require stepping into uncomfortable territory and finally telling their story in their own voice.”
