A major UK retailer is offering customers massive discounts across hundreds of stores. Poundland has relaunched its clothing brand, with 90% of items costing less than £10, and 45% costing less than £5.
In anticipation of the launch, the chain is clearing its current clothing stock to make way for in-house items, with a major sale offering up to 50% off. Poundland started removing the current clothing range in 2023, and the new range will be available in 450 stores. Clothing trading director Maria Epaminondas told Sky: “Pep & Co is back in 450-plus Poundland locations – with the prices, ranges and UK-designed styles customers told us they wanted.” The new brand includes a wide range of womenswear in sizes eight to 22, with a 50% increase to 18 bra sizes from 34A to 40E, including DD. Poundland have also pledged to keep bra prices the same, “regardless of cup size.”
There is also a new kids and baby range, featuring licensed designs from Spider-Man, Lilo & Stitch, and Minnie Mouse, available from the end of February.
This comes after Poundland avoided administration last year, having been saved by US investment firm Gordon Brothers. The company shut 150 stores before announcing last month that the run of closures had ended.
“Any future closures will be a consequence of standard business-as-usual lease events expected at a retailer with a large store network,” it said.
Poundland managing director Barry Williams added: “While there’s been significant progress as we refocus and re-energise the business with lower prices and a sharper offer, we know we still have much to do.
“Our focus on our costs has, without doubt, given us a platform for future growth, but no sustainable turnaround can be based on cost management alone.
“That’s why our focus in 2026 will be on delivering the kind of ranges and price simplicity our customers want right across the store – in clothing, homewares, as well as our core grocery aisles.”
