Police officers, a bomb disposal team and emergency services rushed to the parliament building in Vienna, Austria, following a bomb threat. The alarm was raised on December 2, and quickly saw police officers cordoning off a large area around the Hohes Haus, the Austrian parliament.
Pedestrians and motorists alike were urged by the force to stay away from the area as a probe was underway. Traffic around the Ring road came at a standstill while the cordon was in place.
Bomb disposal experts reached the scene to search the building and surrounding area for any potential threats.
The bomb alert was raised over the telephone, police told local publication Heute. The news outlet didn’t report what the caller had specifically said.
Police also said the mystery caller who made the bomb threat has been identified.
