Poland railway explosion confirmed as Russia sabotage after huge blast | World | News

Polish security services have claimed « everything indicates » Russia ordered a sabotage attack which resulted in a railway explosion on Sunday. Jacek Dobrzyński, press spokesman for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, was asked about the investigation into the incident. He responded: « Everything indicates that Russian intelligence ordered the sabotage of Polish railways.

« I assure you that officers are doing everything they can to investigate this matter. » Mr Dobrzyński said he could not give any more information at this time as the investigation remains ongoing. On Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk also voiced his concern of the sabotage, but did not accuse Russia of being behind it.

He wrote on X: « Unfortunately, the worst fears have been confirmed. On the Warsaw-Lublin route (Mika village), an act of sabotage has occurred. The explosion of an explosive device destroyed the railway track.

« Emergency services and the prosecutor’s office are working at the scene. On the same route, closer to Lublin, damage has also been identified. »

Warsaw has previously said that its role as an ally to Ukraine and supplying aid to the war-torn country makes it a target for Russian sabotage, which Moscow denies.
