Pokemon Pokopia release time, date and Nintendo Switch 2 launch discount | Gaming | Entertainment

Kind of like a cross between Pokemon and Animal Crossing, Pokemon Pokopia has the potential to be a really big game for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Fortunately, we don’t have long to wait before we can find out for sure, because Pokemon Pokopia has a March 5 release date exclusively for the Switch 2.

Better yet, according to an All Out Gaming report, the Switch 2 exclusive will launch at midnight local time in all regions. This means UK fans willing to have a late night can start playing at the stroke of midnight.

The only slight variation is in the US, where Pokemon Pokopia will launch at midnight local time in the east coast, but 9pm PT on March 4 for west coast Pokemon fans.

If you’re planning on picking the game up at launch, then Pokemon Pokopia costs £59.99 from the Nintendo eShop.

However, Very customers can grab the physical version with a bonus Pokemon Pokopia keychain and in-game item for the reduced price of £56.99.

It’s not a huge discount, but you do get the bonus items and can always trade the game in at a later date.

Very also offers various buy now, pay later schemes if you would rather pay at a later date.

It’s been a pretty decent week for Nintendo Switch 2 fans. Not only is one of my favourite games of 2025 available from the eShop, but Nintendo has announced plans to add three new games to Switch Online for MAR10 Day.

As for Pokemon Pokopia, the game tasks players with building a Pokemon community by using each of the creature’s abilities to shape the land.

« Use Bulbasaur’s Leafage to make wild grass grow, keep it healthy with Squirtle’s Water Gun, and more, » reads the official description. « As nature flourishes, more Pokémon will appear for you to meet and learn from!

« Build homes, farm crops, and more in a world with days, nights, and varied weather

Collect rocks and wood to build with, till the fields to grow delicious crops, build homes for the Pokémon you meet…there’s so much to do here! »

The game has impressed critics ahead of launch, earning a Metacritic score of 88%.
