The latest instalment in the Pokémon franchise has landed and gamers can save £17 when ordering a copy online. Pokémon Pokopia has finally launched on Nintendo Switch 2 at retailers including GAME.
GAME is currently charging £59.99 for a new copy of the game, but fans can heavily reduce this when they sign up for a free TopCashback account. This site pays all new members a £15 sign-up bonus, plus cashback when shopping at GAME.
This means Pokémon Pokopia can be effectively reduced to £42.99 after cashback, saving £17 or roughly 28%. This undercuts rival retailers like Very and My Nintendo Store, which charge £56.99 and £58.99 respectively.
Just keep in mind that only new TopCashback members are eligible for the £15 bonus. Pokémon Pokopia is a spin-off from the main video game series and lets players control a Ditto taking the form of a human.
The life simulation game is centred around crafting, creating and building with the help of Bulbasaur, Squirtle and countless other Pokémon to help shape the land. It has received rave reviews from critics, earning the joint-highest Metacritic score of the entire franchise and no negative reviews at launch.
With a rating of 88, it matches Pokémon Y and sits just above HeartGold and SoulSilver at 87, reports Nintendo Life. Here’s how to save £17 on a copy of Pokémon Pokopia.
- Sign up to TopCashback here.
- Search for GAME and click ‘Get Cashback Now’.
- Shop and checkout as usual.
- Cashback will track and appear in the TopCashback account within seven working days of purchase.
- The cashback will become payable and available to withdraw and spend after GAME has paid TopCashback the commission for the purchase.
Among its many rave reviews, GAMINGbible gave Pokopia a perfect score, saying: “There’s no one reason why Pokémon Pokopia is so special; this game is a sum of its parts, without a single weak link in the chain. It’s a title that offers a unique spin on the cosy formula, made all the more magical by the familiarity of this wonderful franchise.
“Pokémon Pokopia is a true adventure that boasts a refreshing sense of freedom. Totally devoid of grind, this experience rewards the curious with heaps of content on offer.”
VGC’s glowing review says: “Pokémon Pokopia is an excellent life simulation game that takes the best bits from the champions of the genre and evolves into something that Pokémon fans, and cosy game fans will love.”
One of the two mixed reviews came from The Gamer, which said: “There is a fun time to be had here, but ultimately Pokémon Pokopia doesn’t explore the Pokémon side of its world and offers building quests that are mostly rigid and repetitive.”
Meanwhile, Dexerto said: “Pokémon Pokopia reimagines what it means to be a Pokémon, blending cosy building systems with open-ended creativity to deliver one of the most addictive gameplay loops the series has ever seen.”
