Path of Exile 2 fans are about to be treated to a another big new content update on PC (via Steam).
The early access action role-playing game will receive the new version 0.2.0 update on April 4, complete with new Dawn of the Hunt endgame encounters, quality of life upgrades and visual improvements.
Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games will preview the new content during a special livestream taking place later today.
The Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt livestream will take place at 12pm PDT on March 27. That’s 7pm GMT for fans watching in the UK.
The livestream will be broadcast exclusively on the Path of Exile Twitch channel on March 27. It will begin with a look at the new Dawn of the Hunt trailer, before previewing additional content launching as part of update 0.2.0.
Developer Grinding Gear Games (GGG) is giving fans the ability to unlock in-game rewards by watching the stream.
GGG explains more: « Twitch drops for the Executioner’s Guillotine Unique Finisher Effect will be enabled from the start of the livestream until 10pm PDT for all channels streaming Path of Exile 2 during that time.
« You’ll get your Executioner’s Guillotine Unique Finisher Effect after 2 hours of accumulated watch time during this period.
« This means that the drop is guaranteed for everyone who has watched any Path of Exile 2 stream for this amount of time. This promotion is available for all accounts. »
To ensure you don’t miss out on the bonus content, GGG recommends checking that your Twitch account and Path of Exile accounts are linked before watching the stream.
If you don’t fancy watching the livestream but want to check out the update 0.2.0 preview at a later time and date, then the content will be available on YouTube at some point in the coming days.
In terms of what fans can expect from version 0.2.0, the update will be headlined by new Dawn of the Hunt content.
According to a teaser page dedicated to update 0.2.0, new quality of life upgrades include the addition of a feature that lets you lock your main hand, off-hand or both, so that you can use the same item between two weapon sets.
That’s on top of a plethora of new support gems, as well as new Ascendancy Classes, Tower spawns and unique items.
« Embrace your Gladiatorial fighting spirit by using The Bringer of Rain, allowing you to wield Two-Handed Weapons in one hand at the cost of your Body Armour, » reads a GGG blog post.
« Or show your devotion to the Gods of Wraeclast, old or new, by being buffed with random shrine effects from the Hammer of Faith Two-Handed Mace. »
Perhaps most exciting of all, however, are the improvements to the endgame, which includes new choices for the Atlas Passive Skill Tree.
