Old Queen Street was closed off on Monday afternoon, with all buildings evacuated as police lock down the road. According to social media reports, the Central London road was shut off at around 4pm on Monday. Images shared on X showed the cordon in place with a police car at the other end of the street. Guido Fawkes posted: « All buildings on Old Queen Street evacuated, police have closed the road. »
Followed by: « Old Queen Street closed, police on the scene. » The Metropolitan Police confirmed the location of a suspicious package, which was later deemed to be safe, allowing the cordon to be lifted. A spokesperson said: « This related to a sus package which was located and since determined to be nothing of conern. Cordons lifted as of 1630hrs. »
