Nintendo Switch Online adding new games for MAR10 Day including Virtual Boy classic | Gaming | Entertainment

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers are in for a treat this month, as the company prepares to celebrate MAR10 Day.

The annual celebration of all things Mario takes place on March 10. To commemorate this year’s MAR10 Day, Nintendo has announced plans to add three Mario games to its online subscription plan.

This includes two Virtual Boy games, most notably the iconic VR sports game Mario’s Tennis.

In addition to Mario’s Tennis, Virtual Boy fans will also be able to play Mario Clash.

Furthermore, Nintendo will add Game Boy Advance title Mario vs Donkey Kong to the service.

It’s worth noting that all titles are available for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier, and not the basic tier.

While Mario vs Donkey Kong is probably the pick of the bunch, Mario’s Tennis is the one I’m most looking forward to playing.

Mario’s Tennis was actually a launch title for the Virtual Boy when it launched back in the 1990s.

It features the usual modes – singles, doubles etc – as well as seven different playable characters.

As a reminder, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack costs £34.99 for an annual membership, or £59.99 as part of a Family membership.

As part of the subscription, members can play Gamecube titles such as Wind Waker, F-Zero GX and Soulcalibur 2.

That’s on top of N64 titles like Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64 and Sin and Punishment on N64, as well as Zelda Ocarina of Time and Mario Tennis.

SEGA Mega Drive games are also playable with the Expansion Pack tier, alongside Game Boy Advance titles.

Virtual Boy games were recently added to the service. Fans can purchase a Virtual Boy accessory to play the titles as intended. There’s a fairly authentic replication of the original device for £66.99, or a cardboard model for £16.99.
