A seaside village will see the opening of the fourth Wetherspoon pub in the area as part of an £8.3 million investment. Haven has confirmed that it will open a new venue for the popular pub chain at the Kent Coast Holiday Park in Rochester. Named The London Stone, the pub will start serving on March 24.
The Kent Coast site has already undergone significant upgrades over the past 18 months including the addition of an outdoor adventure village, an entertainment show bar, and an expanded arcade. Wetherspoons already has a strong presence in Medway, with existing branches such as The Railway in Rainham, The Thomas Waghorn in Chatham, and The Golden Lion in Rochester.
Following a successful launch at Primrose Valley in Yorkshire last year, Haven is expanding its J D Wetherspoon offering to four other holiday parks – Kent Coast was the first.
Over £6.7 million was invested in the new Wetherspoon pubs at Cleethorpes Beach, Devon Cliffs, Kent Coast and Haggerston Castle.
This development is part of Haven’s £8.3 million investment in enhancing its food and beverage offerings for 2025. This also includes two new Burger Kings at Hopton Holiday Park and Lakeland Holiday Park, KentLive reports.
This brings Haven’s total number of franchised partnerships to six, joining an impressive lineup of household names, including Papa Johns, Millie’s Cookies, Slim Chickens, and Chopstix.
Haven’s chief executive, Simon Palethorpe, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, « We are delighted to expand our partnership with J D Wetherspoon by introducing four new pubs at our parks.
“The opening of The London Stone at Kent Coast reflects our ongoing efforts to grow and enhance our food and beverage partnerships and offerings.
« We look forward to bringing this experience to even more locations across the UK for our guests and holiday homeowners to enjoy. »
John Hutson, chief executive of J D Wetherspoon, said: “We look forward to the opening of the four new Wetherspoon pubs at Haven holiday parks.
“Our pub at Primrose Valley has proven a great success and we are confident that the four new pubs will be welcomed by guests and owners.”
