Banned Chelsea star Mykhaylo Mudryk has posted a social media update of him training at another English club’s facilities. The winger hasn’t played for the Blues since November 2024 as he remains suspended by the FA following an ‘adverse finding in a routine urine test’.
The illicit substance identified in Mudryk’s system was meldonium, which has been banned in sport since 2016 by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as it allows athletes to enhance endurance, speed up recovery, and optimise oxygen delivery to tissues during exercise. Mudryk could face a potential ban of up to four years, although the precise penalty he’ll incur has not yet been determined.
In the meantime, he’s been training away from Cobham with a private coach and recently uploaded a video on Instagram to his 1.8 million followers showcasing himself in action.
The short clip features Mudryk on Uxbridge FC’s 3G pitch receiving a pass on the edge of the box before manoeuvring around a training dummy. He then fires a shot into the far corner using his weaker left foot.
Aside from asserting that he hadn’t knowingly ingested a prohibited substance, Mudryk has been relatively silent on social media, though he did recently respond to a birthday greeting from Chelsea and also hinted at a comeback to fans.
Addressing the second matter, he commented: « I just wanted to say thank you for your support. I see all your messages and truly appreciate them, so please don’t give up on me as I [have] not given up on myself. Can’t wait to see you soon. »

After his appointment at Chelsea to replace Enzo Maresca, Liam Rosenior faced questions regarding Mudryk, with the 41-year-old confirming his plans to engage with the Ukrainian, although he had not yet managed to do so.
Speaking in late January, he stated: « It’s definitely something that I want to do, but there are many things I want to do and haven’t been able to do.
« But, no, he’s a magnificent player. He’s had a really difficult time and when the moment is right for me and him and the club, I’ll definitely have a conversation with him. »
Rosenior added: « The time is right when I speak with the board and the sporting directors and when it’s right that he’s in a place where I can have an impact, in a positive way, on his career. »
