Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show torn apart for one key flaw | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Royal correspondent Rupert Bell slams Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show as « fake », as viewers reportedly were surprised it featured no cooking.

The new series, titled, With Love, Meghan, which is set to be released on March 4, was believed to be a cooking show by the Duchess that would « celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship ».

But sources who have reportedly seen a preview of the series claim the Duchess won’t be doing any cooking at all, but will simply show viewers how to master hosting instead.

Chatting to Russell Quirk on GB News on Friday, opinionated royal expert Bell didn’t hold back, blasting the star as “fake” and predicting it will fail for being an “insult to the public”.

“Every time I have to watch the trailer I cringe,” he said. “If she’s talking about lifestyle, when did she last turn the washing machine on? When did she last get out there planting the seeds and growing everything?

“She didn’t even film it in her house so that immediately makes its fake. There’s probably a significant production crew preparing everything. And yes she’s saying this is how we want to live and have friends round – looking at the list of friends she’s got coming it’s not really an A-List lot.”

Confirmed appearances include actress and producer Mindy Kaling, chef Roy Choi, chef Alice Waters, and actress Abigail Spencer.

He added: « This series needs to be a success… that’s why it will fail, if it’s seen to insult the public. Those hands don’t do much cooking. I’m sure there’s somebody in there who prepares all their meals,” to which Quirk replied: “I suspect they don’t do much of anything.”

A source told the Mail: « There is no point at which Meghan says ‘take 200 grams of flour’ or anything like that.

« It’s a very magical and beautiful guide to hosting and entertaining rather than a how-to cookery show.

« It’s about inspiration – more like, ‘Why not try and make this kind of pasta or this kind of dessert’. »

The source added that Prince Harry is « barely glimpsed » and « barely mentioned » in the show and it’s « all about » Meghan.

They said: « Harry isn’t in it. It’s all her, and all about her. It’s very watchable. »

Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said recently that she is « excited » about the royal couples future and revealed that the company would be standing by Harry and Meghan.

She said: « We have Meghan’s new show coming out, which is great. It is such a great take on a lifestyle show and showcase for California, Montecito and nature. It really has great takeaways. I was like ‘oh my God, I want to really do that pasta.’ There’s really easy great takeaways on life. I am really excited about that coming out. »
