Meghan Markle opens up and reveals ‘uncomfortable’ moment | Royal | News

Despite being in the public eye Meghan Markle has lifted the lid and revealed an “uncomfortable” moment during a recent public outing that she found nerve racking. Famously in 2020 the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit as senior working royals and moved to the US.

The couple currently reside in Montecito with their two children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three. In a candid interview with PEOPLE magazine Meghan revealed how she is connecting with the local community and how she hasn’t always found it smooth sailing. Meghan said she has been going to local yoga classes like any other person does but recalled an uncomfortable moment when she joined a group class in her local community.

She said: “I go to [yoga] classes that sometimes have 40 to 50 people in them and just walk in like, ‘Hi!’.

“Of course, at the beginning, that felt like a lot. By the way, I think anybody walking into a yoga class with 50 people and everyone looks up, it’s going to feel a little uncomfortable!”

Despite this, the duchess revealed that she now loves these classes.

She said: « The other day in class, I was there by myself — sometimes I go with girlfriends, but I went by myself — and in the middle of the class they said, ‘Great, tell the person on your mat next to you that they’re doing a great job, give them a fist pump.’ And I looked over and there was someone over there, and I was like [miming a fist bump], ‘Well done!’ and then I looked to the other side and there was someone else and I went, ‘Nicely done! Come on, guys!’

« I mean, that’s part of how you connect. I love it. It’s the best. I had missed it. It’s awesome. »

The mum of two went on to explain how she has made the star studded town her home by surrounding herself with women « not in the public eye ».

« I have a couple of girlfriends up here — these are stay-at-home moms and working women with normal jobs, not in the public eye.

« We went from just connecting through our kids to having girls’ nights out or doing Pilates together. »

And it appears Prince Harry is also enjoying a dose of ‘normalcy’. As well as doing the school runs, it has been previously reported that the duke enjoys dog walks on the beach and bike rides.
