Two lanes were closed on the M62 after a crash, as drivers were warned to expect delays. Lanes three and four of four were closed earlier this morning, with one reopening by 7.40am. In an update on X at 9.03am, National Highways told drivers: « 1 lane (of 4) remains closed on the #M62 eastbound in #Cheshire between J11 (#Risley) and J12 (#M60) following a collision.
« Recovery is ongoing at scene. There’s a 45 minute delay on approach with 5 miles of congestion. » Another update 40 minutes later announced that the incident was « clear, and all lanes have re-opened on the #M62 eastbound in #Cheshire between J11 (#Risley) and J12 (#M60) ».
It told drivers long delays remain in the area « but should now start to ease ». The agency also offered its thanks for the patience of motorists held up this morning.
